“King of the Chitlin' Circuit”
Born Emmett Ellis Jr. in Homer, Louisiana in 1933, Bobby Rush blends soul, funk, blues and a little comedy into what he calls 'folkfunk.' Crowned the 'King of the Chitlin' Circuit,' he broke through with 1971's 'Chicken Heads' and later won Grammys for 'Porcupine Meat' and 'Rawer Than Raw.'
